“Ameen” is a costume borne out of my senior capstone project at the University of South Florida “Costumes in African-American Dance Traditions. This costume combines my love for modern dance whilst also honoring my Islamic upbringing. I was greatly inspired by the Christian iconography and fashion in Alvin Ailey’s Revelations.
